The Best Ways to Spend Memorial Day 2022

The time to honor our fallen soldiers is nearly here, so what's the best way to dedicate the day to those who served us? Keep reading for some inspiration:

Honor the living

The best way to honor the fallen is to appreciate your loved ones. This is why Memorial Day is often treated as a celebration of life, and most companies grant time off from work for parents to spend quality time with their families. Because Memorial Day typically brings us good weather, many activities involve the outdoors. This can mean:

-Enjoying a day at the lake

-Going for a boat/motorcycle ride

-Having fun at the waterpark

-Playing a favorite family sport

-Throwing a cookout event/picnic

-Relaxing at the pool

Attend local parades and activities

There is plenty to do around the area for Memorial Day, from parades to corn hole tournaments. You can visit the Shelby KOA Resort for a complete list of events they will be hosting from the 27th to the 31st. In addition, the Charles Mill Marina will have a DJ Night on the water from 6-9pm on May 29th, and the Mansfield Shrine Club will also be hosting a Memorial Day/Miss Ohio Parade on Park Ave. W. in Mansfield, Ohio. Pleasant Hill will also join in on the fun with live rock music from 7-10pm on May 28th, and a movie in the Planetarium from 1-3pm on May 29th. Visit Veterans Cemeteries

Memorial Day weekend is a great time to visit cemeteries such as the Ohio Western Reserve in Rittman, Ohio. This is a great way to foster community and lift spirits, as you and many others show veterans your support.
